She spills her history: She never saw the boy again because she met the Commodore the next day, and he ravaged her just six weeks before her thirteenth birthday. While enjoying the sunshine with Roy Phillips on the boardwalk, Gillian recalls her first kiss. Nucky insists that Chalky let him feel out Narcisse before he takes action, as he does not want to go through another war: Narcisse is connected to New York and that can spell trouble for both of them. The two spar about who owes whom what Nucky believes granting Chalky a club on the Boardwalk settled their debt, but Chalky feels otherwise. Unable to fix the sink, Van Alden heads to work at the flower shop where he has to put up with O'Banion's questions about Stu's murder the day he disappeared with the Capones. She mocks his job with Dean O'Banion, doubting that Van Alden is much of a tough guy. While Nelson Van Alden attempts to fix the kitchen sink, his wife, Sigrid, complains that nothing in their kit-house works properly. Waxey sends an assassin to kill Horvitz, but the attempt fails and Horvitz finds a matchbox from Atlantic City in his would-be-killer's pocket.ĭunn Purnsely is fed up with working conditions for black people in Atlantic City and incites a worker's strike among the kitchen help.Written by David Matthews & Jennifer Ames & Steve Turner Jimmy decides to deal with Horvitz by telling his enemy, Waxey Gordon, that Horvitz has killed two of Waxey's men. Her distress at being separated from her daughter is so great that she sneaks into the quarantine ward to hold her sick child. Margaret burns her daughters things to eliminate the risk of contaminating others. The doctor quarantines Emily and discovers she has polio. Meanwhile, Margaret's daughter Emily wakes up unable to move her legs. Nucky is now in business with Bill who accepts the trade of guns for booze. His decision doesn't sit well with other members of the rebellion and he is executed. McGarrigle refuses his offer, choosing peace with the English over continued war. However, he hopes to exchange the 3.000 remaining guns at home for some Irish whiskey. Nucky smuggles in a dozen "Tommy guns" into Ireland in his father's casket as a gift for the Irish rebellion.
